Here she is, my daughter, being effortlessly beautiful as always.
Oh to be young again…
The photograph was taken in the back garden** of her French granddad, or ‘papy’ as they are called in France.
She’s such a perfect specimen and yet, as I type this, she’s sat on the toilet, giving us a blow-by-blow account of what she’s doing. I won’t fill in the blanks too much, but I would really rather not have a ‘director’s commentary’ if I’m being honest.
I could also do without all the grunts.
They can be perfect.
They can be perfectly vile.
Here she just looks perfect.
Clothes from the French market.
Looks from Mummy.
Brains from Mummy.
Stick from Daddy.
*It’s early days, I’m sure we will take many more photographs, but so far this is my favourite.
**I use the term ‘back garden’ in its loosest possible sense – ‘vast field’ would be more appropriate. They have land to spare in this glorious country.

A pretty picture of your pretty daughter! Back garden does not do justice…vast fields or plains is apt☺

He’s got a sit-on-mower. But he’s 68. I still think it’s too much work – even with the sit-on-mower!

I guess it keeps him fit and mentally adept as he has to manage the task of mowing. Perhaps it is his way of staying physically fit.

Yes, there’s certainly enough for them to do at that house to keep them fit 🙂

She remembers me of our great-granddaughter, blond hair and all. Beautiful child. (Of course.)

Thanks 🙂 we are quite surprised by the hair colour – both our kids have blond hair and yet we are both very, very dark! If not for a few obvious similarities I’d be heading for a DNA check 🙂

Reminds, not remembers! Been hanging around with my Amish friends too long!
Oddly enough, all three of our local great-grandkids were born with coal-black hair, but it turned blond-ish by their first birthdays.
