About me

I volunteered for this.

Just keep that in mind.

I’m West Yorkshire born and bred and, having done the numbers with my partner after the arrival of our second child, decided to opt for the life of a stay-at-home dad.

I have a son, 6 who’s head is full of dreams, and a daughter of 3, who is destined for great things. Or world domination from a volcanic lair, not sure which yet.

It has not been easy.

I started this blog mainly so that when my kids are older, they can read about what we got up to.

We have recently moved to France, so now you know why the latest blog posts are centred around the land of cheese and wine.

Hopefully the tales I post here will entertain you.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog and liking a recent post! Parenting is quite the adventure. I’ve always described it as the hardest, best job ever!

    • No problem on the like, thanks for the great comment. Yes it’s tough, but rewarding…at least that’s what I keep telling myself!

Great blog and so strange because I am also English, I moved to France a year ago and the last place I lived was Pontefract in West Yorkshire, although I originally hail from Doncaster in South Yorkshire. I’ve read a few of your posts and each one has me chuckling. I can’t wait to read some more 🙂

    • Thanks! I used to work near Pontefract (Castleford) and have spent quite a few days having a wander round ‘Ponte’ with the kids. We were just down the road in Wakefield before making the move. West Yorkshire’s a lovely place to live but – like all places – there’s some rough places/people in the mix too. But that’s life I suppose!
