It’s a little known – and some would argue it is in fact a fabrication – rule that in the UK literature in doctor’s waiting rooms is not permitted, unless it falls into 2 categories:
Firstly it must be dull: Caravanners’ Monthly, Carp Fishing Weekly, Woodwork And Me or Trains, Trains, Trains.
Secondly it cannot, under any circumstances, be any newer than 5 year’s old. I once read a Take A Break in 2016 that was from 2004. Fact.
Nice to see French waiting rooms have the same quality of literature as the UK.
The two pictured were nearly older than my kids.
I can’t wait to visit the dentist.
Golf magazines from the 20th century. They love them do the dentists in the UK. Fact.
A British friend gave me some old, old magazines, which I read and then forwarded to our former rector. Vicar to you. She promptly email me to ask if I had raided the doctor’s office. Things are the same all over!

It’s always reassuring to know you can catch up on what the stars were doing a decade ago at your local ‘quacks’.
